Jean-Baptiste Sécheret , born October 15 , 1957 in Neuilly-sur-Seine 1 , is a French painter , illustrator and engraver .


Jean-Baptiste Sécheret entered the Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1976 2 . He was a boarder at Casa de Velázquez from 1984 to 1986 2 .

Since 1980, he exhibited in Paris , Madrid , New York , Basel and in various cities of France. His first solo exhibitions take place in 1987 . A retrospective of his engraved and lithographed work is presented in 2001 and 2002 in Maubeuge then at the Musée de Gravelines 2 , 3 .

Sécheret lives and works mainly in Paris , where he devotes himself to painting and printmaking 4 . He teaches arts and techniques of representation at the National School of Architecture of Paris-Belleville 5 . He paints regularly in Trouville for the Valabrègue Suite where he represents for several years the same building facing the sea 6 .

Editor and printer 7 , he has also illustrated several books. The National Library of France keeps several dozen of his prints, from the 1990s to today
