Lydia Segrave Art for Sale and Sold Prices

b. 1945 -

I attended Maidstone College of Art in Kent, and then worked in advertising and publishing. I started sculpting in 1993 and now have a studio in Oxfordshire. My work has been exhibited in various galleries in the UK, Ireland and France.

Enjoy looking at the bronze sculptures on the following pages. As you will see, they range from near realism to fairly abstract forms. I am as concerned to depict the mood or attitude of a subject as to represent it. My father was Irish and my mother Scottish, and I think a bit of Celtic imagery gets into some of the pieces. I nearly always work with molten wax since the fluidity of this material lends itself well to suggesting movement. I produce small editions of between four and ten bronze casts of each work.
