Stefan Sehler was born in Nuremberg and studied from 1979 to 1986 at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf, where he showed his first individual exhibition in 1986 in the exhibition rooms of the gallery Traude Näke. The artist currently lives in Berlin and Düsseldorf. In his works, he developed a technique of painting of reverse glass painting, which explores the exciting contrast between representation and abstraction and achieves exceptional visual impact. His works are amongst others in the Kunstmuseum Düsseldorf and the Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain, Nice as well as in large collections, for example, of Deutsche Bank, Allianz Berlin, Henkel KG and Siemens Cultural Foundation, Munich.

It is a smaller version, specially crafted as gift of a much larger work from 2002. Condition: The reverse glass picture is overall in very good condition. It measures 60 x 80 cm, the framed dimensions are 63 x 83 cm.
