The Art Deco bronze centerpiece depicts a nude figure of a woman holding a child up above her; she is kneeling on a cushion-form platform that is surrounded by four candle holders. Signed "E.P. Seidel." Dimensions: 14 1/2 in. high x 14 in. wide x 5 in. deep. Weight: 7.55 lbs.

Emory Pius Seidel (American, 1881-1954) Art Deco Bronze Garniture Set. Includes patinated semi nude female figural 9.6 inch high by 20 inch wide centerpiece and a pair of 12.2 inch high 8.3 inches wide three arm candelabra. Signed E. P. Seidel with a copyright symbol and impressed with a circular Roman Bronze Works mark on al three pieces on the underside of each piece. Previous owner told us she won many awards in New York City Garden Club competitions using the set in flower arrangements. Added flower frog attached to center of bowl which we have removed, it was attached with green florist putty. In good condition. Emory Pius Seidel (American (Chicago, Illinois), 1881-1954). Cast and patinated Art Deco figural bronze centerpiece with removable oblong bowl with flared rim at center flanked by kneeling young female beauties with short hair, slender bodies and bare feet, gently holding a small winged bird in open upward facing palm on an integral Art Deco base with outswept feet. Marked on underside of centerpiece base and bowl with circular mark reading "ROMAN BRONZE WORKS N.Y.". Overall approximate height 10", width 20.5", depth 7.5". Note: Seidel is well-regarded for his graceful figures and work in bronze decorative arts. In 1925, he won the John C. Shaffer Prize from the Art Institute of Chicago. In 1927, he was awarded the Palette and Chisel Award.
