      Lino Selvatico, Padova, 1872 - Treviso, 1924 (Padua) - - Lino Selvatico, son of Riccardo renowned promoter of Venetian exhibitions, was born and grew up under his father's influence and guidance. Thanks to him, he was introduced to legal and artistic studies, also having the opportunity to learn under the tutelage of Cesare Laurenti. This eclectic training marked the beginning of a promising artistic career.His inaugural work, the "Portrait of Professor G. Bordiga," was presented at the III International Art Exhibition in Venice in 1899, immediately highlighting his emerging talent. Selvatico, a keen observer of the Venetian art of his time, began his career inspired by two eminent local artists, Giacomo Favretto and Ettore Tito. While he distanced himself from Favretto's anecdotal vein, he embraced Tito's portrait technique, modeling his works on elegant, worldly styles. This artistic choice proved to be a success, earning him the favor of the Venetian aristocracy and upper middle class.His active participation in the Venetian Internationals, including two individual shows in 1912 and 1922, helped solidify his reputation on the art scene. Despite his untimely death on July 25, 1924, following a tragic car accident while riding his motorcycle, his artistic legacy endured.Lino Selvatico's posthumous recognition was manifested in 1926, with the organization of a retrospective showcasing as many as 45 of his works. This event highlighted his significant contribution to Venetian art, celebrating his skill in portraiture and his lasting impact on the local art scene. Grâce à lui, il a été initié aux études juridiques et artistiques, et a également eu l'occasion d'apprendre sous la tutelle de Cesare Laurenti. Cette formation éclectique marque le début d'une carrière artistique prometteuse. Sa première œuvre, le "Portrait du professeur G.
