From 1928 to 1936, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Athens. From 1923 to 1937, he worked as an illustrator and dance instructor. After the war, he became a self-taught artist and engraver. He went on study trips to France, Italy and Russia. From 1964, he lived in Rhodes for several years and spent the rest of his life in Athens.
