Dermot Seymour Sold at Auction Prices

A self-taught artist, Dermot Seymour was born in Belfast in 1956. Like many of his contemporaries Seymour deals with the subject of political turmoil in Northern Ireland in the 1980s and 1990s. He treats political subject matter with social realism and absurdist humour. Seymour's paintings often involve the juxtaposition of political imagery in an Irish landscape setting accompanied by livestock and religious or military symbolism. Seymour has had solo shows in Belfast, Dublin, Berlin and New York.
