EXHIBITIONS: Fundraising exhibition for Gough Whitlam at Sydney Town Hall, 1975. OTHER NOTES: David Martin was a Hungarian-born Australian novelist, poet, playwright, journalist and editor. He was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 1988 for his services to Australian literature. Rod Shaw illustrated David's book 'Spiegel the Cat' (1961), and also a number of his other books of poetry. David and his wife Richenda became close friends of the Shaw family, visiting them frequently throughout the 60s.
