George Sidney Shepherd was the son of the topographical artist, George Shepherd. He practised watercolour painting in the style of his father, occasionally adding rustic scenes and still-lifes to his portfolio of topographical works. He painted many views of metropolitan buildings. He exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1830 and 1837, at the Royal Society of British Artists and at the New Water-Colour Society, of which he was a member.
