It is signed in the bottom right-hand corner reading, "Marianna Sloan". The painting is set into a custom, golden frame with an art gallery tag on the back. Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector, Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman, which was part museum and gallery. The piece shows good condition overall, with some light wear across the frame. The frame measures 25 1/2" wide by 21 1/2" tall with the art measuring 19 1/4" wide by 15 1/4" tall.

Women's Edition/The Press. 1895.Known primarily for her seascapes and mural paintings, Sloan publicizes the "Thanksgiving Eve" edition of The Press' "Women's Edition" with theatrical classicism. And though it's impossible to say precisely what drama we're watching unfold before us, it appears as if it's taking place in a venue fond of displaying other works promoting The Press.
