Josta Stapper (born Josef Stapper on February 18, 1941 in Cologne) is a German visual artist, graphic artist and cartoonist. He is best known in recent years for his monthly cartoons in Y - Das Magazin der Bundeswehr.

From 1956 to 1959, Stapper went into an animation drawing apprenticeship at the Fischerkoesen-Studio in Bonn-Mehlem, and at the same time he attended the Cologne werkschulen until 1962. Since 1962 he has been working as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator, among others for the satirical magazine Pardon. Since 1969, Stapper has been represented as a freelance painter in galleries in Berlin and Hamburg and has had a studio at the Kunstzentrum Wachsfabrik in Cologne since 1979. In the 1970s he created photorealistic works.
