The entire world immediately understood Steiger's mutely communicating figures. During the Prague Spring they became public street art: his drawn ideas appeared in chalk on walls of buildings and the sides of tanks. Künstlerinfo: deutsch-tschechischer Karikaturist, Film- und Drehbuchautor, geb. 1939 (Prag), Studium u.a. an der Filmakademie Prag, Literaturstudium bei Milan Kundera, seit 1966 vorwiegend als Karikaturist tätig, zahlreiche Ausstellungen in Nordamerika und Europa, seine Cartoons erscheinen regelmäßig in der "Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung", sowie in anderen europäischen und amerikanischen Blättern, für seine literarischen, karikaturistischen und filmischen Arbeiten erhielt er verschiedene nationale und internationale Preise, lebt in München.
