The center reveals a luscious bouquet of roses in a glass vase and surrounded by grapes, plums and peaches. The artist was able to capture the delicacy of the flowers and gifts and transferred their vivid colors to his canvas. The painting is signed lower right ‘F. STOITZNER. ‘. The paint surface shows small abrasions and marks, where the frame has rubbed. Inspection under UV light reveals scattered areas of retouching. The canvas is supported by a small piece of fabric on the reverse. The stretcher measures 55.5 x 69 cm. Friedrich Stoitzner (19th/20th century) Stoitzner was specialized in still life painting.
