Stan Stokes Art for Sale at Auction

Acclaimed photorealistic and historical painter, Stan Stokes started drawing before kindergarten while tagging along with his antique car collecting father. Growing up next Brackett Field, in La Verne, California introduced the young artist to several P-38 Lightings and even a B-25 bomber. By the time he graduated from high school and enrolled at the Art Center College of Design in LA, he had traded his pencil for a paintbrush, and his passion for classic cars and military airplanes became one of his favorite subjects.
Not only a painter, but a pilot too. Stokes' secured his pilot's license in his teens and took up aerobatics in his 7KCAB Citabria airplane.
Now, with more than 47 years as a full time artist, his attention to the smallest detail makes one forget they're looking at a painting and not a photograph. His work encompasses portraits, landscapes, aviation and space, nautical, automotive and western paintings. Published in numerous books, calendars and periodicals. His work is highly sought after by museums and collectors alike, and included in the collections of three presidential libraries and many prestige's national museums and corporations.
Stan lives in Palm Desert, California with his wife Joan, and is an honoree Board Member with the Palm Springs Air Museum.
