Peter Suhr (1788 Hamburg - 1857 ebenda) attr.; Panoramaansicht des Altonaer Tors (Millerntors) in Hamburg kurz nach 1820 Blick von St. Pauli aus mit vielfiguriger Szene vor dem 1819/20 nach der Entfestigung Hamburgs im klassizistischen Stil nach Plänen des Baumeisters Carl Ludwig Wimmel neu errichteten Tor. Von der gesamten Anlage, die aus zwei größeren Gebäuden und zwei Torhäuschen bestand, zwischen denen sich vier Steinpfeiler für breite Metallzäune und -tore befanden, ist heute nur noch das um 30 m versetzte, kleine, nördliche Wachhaus (die sog. Millerntorwache) erhalten geblieben. Im Hintergrund der Michel. Suhr schuf zwei bekannte, im Motiv und Stil vergleichbare Grafiken der Wache, die sich ebenfalls durch eine reiche figürliche Staffage auszeichnen. Feder, Aquarell u. Gouache bzw. Tempera/Papier. Verso alter Klebezettel mit Besitzerangabe. Ca. 51,5 cm x 170 cm. Original-Mahagoni-Rahmen mit Hamburger Hanseatenkreuz aus Messing in den ebonisierten Ecken. Provenienz: Sammlung Wolfgang Friderichsen, Hamburg. Attributed to Peter Suhr (1788 - 1857). Pen (Indian ink), watercolour and gouache or tempera on paper. Original frame.

Suhr, Peter (Hamburg 1788 - 1857). Die alte Börse in Hamburg am 4ten December 1841, beim Abschiede von derselben. Aquarell auf Papier. 1841. Montiert auf Trägerkarton, dort handschriftlich bezeichnet 'Nach der Natur gezeichnet von Peter Suhr' sowie betitelt. 22 x 34,5 cm. Gerahmt. Die stetige Zunahme des Börsenhandels hatte einen Neubau nötig gemacht, der am Adolphsplatz im Dezember 1841 bezogen wurde. Der Aquarellist, Zeichner und Leiter der in Hamburg gegründeten Lithographischen Anstalt Peter Suhr schuf die Vorlage zu zahlreichen Ansichten Hamburgs, wie diese der Alten Börse.- Trägerkarton gebräunt.
