    Terracotta bas-relief This interesting piece full of drama, which shows the tragic ending in which Faust finds Margarita with lost reason and about to die, was made by the famous sculptor Sevillian in 1884. That year he returned to Seville after having spent a few training years in Paris, a city where he entered the École de Beux-Arts and got to know the main sculpture workshops and museums; achieving there, years later, the bronze and silver medals in the Universal Exhibitions of 1889 and 1990. In it the influence of French art is clearly appreciated with its detailed and delicate treatment, and with the type of ascending composition of meandering forms that would become typical in their production, like these romantic themes or becquerian evocation. The particulars of this commission are unknown, inspired by the famous literary work by Goethe, which also included another bas-relief with a Faustic theme that appeared in commerce in 2018, with the same technical characteristics, which was made on the same date. It presents faults and restorations. Measurements: 46 x 25 cm
