Will you not kindly send me at once a list of your more important works with dates and locations, also date and place of birth. I must finish my job before sailing for Europe early June." Below signature of Lorado Taft is a pencil notation "Ans. 4/23/23"

Note: Lorado Taft (1860-1936) also executed the portal sculpture of the Louisiana State Capitol, Baton Rouge. The "Fountain of the Great Lakes" is preserved on the exterior of the south wing of the Art Institute of Chicago.
