          Signed John Raymond Terken (American, 1912 - 1993) original sketch titled "Meditating Woman". Terken studied at the Beaux Arts Institute. Among his teachers was Paul Manship, whose influence can be seen in this work. He later studied at the New York School of Fine and Industrial Arts, Columbia School of Fine Arts and in a number of art centers in Europe. Terken was Advertising Manager for the National Sculpture Review, the Board of Education Services, Long Island District and was a delegate to the Fine Arts Federation of NY. He taught at the East Meadow H.S. on Long Island. Measurements: 11" x 16 1/4"
