DESCRIPTION: Three 19th century Thackara family portraits. Watercolor and ink on paper. Wooden frames with glass. Includes: 1) William Wood Thackara (February 9, 1791-April 19, 1839). He was the son of James Thackara (1767-1848) and Hanna G. Trenchard (1758-1813). 4" x 3-1/4". Overall with frame 6-1/4" x 5-1/2". 2) George Trenchard Thackara (January 4, 1794-1840). He was the son of James Thackara and Hannah G. Trenchard. 4-1/4" x 3-1/2". Overall with frame 7" x 5-1/2". 3) Portrait of Hannah G. Trenchard, the wife of James Thackara. 6-1/2" x 5-1/4". James Thackara (Philadelphia, 1767-1848) was an engraver and stationer who apprenticed to James Trenchard and married his daughter. MEASUREMENTS: See Description. CONDITION: Minor toning consistent with age. Minor undulation. Not examined out of the frames. Minor wear to frames.
