      Ralston Carlton Thompson (Ohio, 1904-1975) abstract mixed media painting titled "Marine Forms", rendered in bright colors with black outlines and areas of gilt wash. Housed in a black painted frame with red border. Label en verso with title, date 1956, and artist info. Partially legible Columbus Museum label to backing. Sight: 35 1/2" H x 47 1/2" W. Framed: 37" H x 49" W. American, mid 20th century. PROVENANCE: Private Middle Tennessee Collection; formerly in the collection of the Columbus Museum of Art (1977-1997), exhibited at the Ralston Thompson Retrospective Exhibit at the Springfield Art Center (now the Springfield Art Museum) in Springfield, Ohio Sept. 28-Oct. 23, 1974.
