      SEYMOUR THOMPSON (American 1910 - 1981) A PAINTING, "Taxco," oil on canvas, signed L/R. 20" x 16" NOTE: Born in Oregon on Feb. 11, 1910. By the mid-1930s Thompson had settled in Los Angeles and was a pupil at the Chouinard School of Art. His art career was interrupted while serving in the Navy during WWII. An alcoholic, he died on a sidewalk in Los Angeles on Jan. 7, 1981. Exh: Chouinard Gallery (LA), 1939.
