Mackenzie Thorpe Art for Sale at Auction

b. 1956 -

Despite now counting author J.K. Rowling and Queen Elizabeth II among his fans, the career path of British artist Mackenzie Thorpe did not start smoothly. Born into a working-class family, undiagnosed dyslexia caused him to leave school without any formal qualifications and he worked briefly as a manual laborer. However, his passion for painting gave him the confidence to apply to Middlesborough College of Art, where he was accepted on the strength of his enthusiasm and existing portfolio. He later studied at Byam Shaw School of Art in London.

Mackenzie Thorpe's prints, calendars, and greeting cards with his distinctive black-and-white figures and emotional pull have helped propel him into the ranks of well-respected international and commissioned artists. Mackenzie Thorpe prints and sculptures, in particular, have become highly sought after. Buy collectible contemporary prints from Invaluable to enhance your living space.
