                Olio su tela riportata su tavola, cm. 61,5x50,5. L'opera presenta un'aderenza quasi totale rispetto al dipinto con medesimo soggetto del pittore Tissot conservato presso il Museo d'Orsay. Si notano però significative varianti in alcuni dettagli, si veda ad esempio il tendaggio sullo sfondo, il profilo della sedia a destra nella composizione, o ancora la gabbietta in alto a destra e la pila di libri appoggiata sul tavolino nello sfondo. Questi dettagli e la stesura libera ed espressiva della pittura potrebbero qualificare il presente dipinto quale bozzetto preparatorio dell'opera conservata nel museo francese. Certamente il supporto e la materia sono ascrivibili al periodo dell'opera originale. Dati del dipinto al Musée d'Orsay: Portrait de Mademoiselle L. L., 1864, cm. 123,5x99.
