Tomasz Tobolewski (born 1973, Zabrze)

Painter, graphic artist and academic lecturer. In the years 1995-2000, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow (Faculty of Graphic Arts in Katowice), obtaining a diploma in the Pracownia Druk Intagreby prof. Stanislawa Kluski. In 2006 he obtained the degree of doctor of art. He works as a lecturer at the Art Institute of the Art Department of the University of Silesia in Cieszyn and at the Department of Graphic Arts at the University of Ostrava.

Winner of several awards and distinctions in Polish and international competitions. He won, among others, the President of the City of Pilsen Award at the International Drawing Biennale, Czech Republic (2004), Grand Prix in the competition "Work of the Year" ZPAP Katowice (2005), the Award of the President of the City of Wroclaw at the International Drawing Competition (2006) Grand Prix at the X International Graphic Dryne Biennale in Serbia (2011).

A participant of several dozen artistic events and group exhibitions at home and abroad in the field of painting and graphics. He presented his works, among others at the Triennial of Polish Graphics, BWA Katowice (2012), International Triennial of Small Graphic Form - Lódz (2011), International Graphic Biennale Dry Point - Serbia (2011, 2007, 2005), International Graphic Biennale, Guanlan - China (2009), International Triennial Graphic Arts T. Kulisiewicz, Warsaw (2008), International Exhibition of Artists from the Baltic States, Lound, Sweden (2007) and Salon de L'estampe Contemporaine - Ruel-Malmaison, France (2006).

The drawing has a unique role in his artistic output. It is not only the basis of a painting workshop, but also an independent form of expression. He presented works in this field at the International Drawing Biennale, Pilsen - Czech Republic (2012, 2006, 2004), the International Drawing Competition - Macedonia (2010,2012) and the International Drawing Competition - Wroclaw (2012,2009, 2006).
