      Dec. 07, 2023

      VILÉM TRSEK 1862 - 1937 - SWEET BURDEN

      Est: -

Vilém Trsek painted mainly landscapes and studied under prof. Ant. Lhota, Fr. Sequens and M. Pirner. He came from a forester's family and blended in with the environment of the forest and the village. He mainly painted work in the field, meadows, by the river, in the forest or in the yard. The work Sweet Burden is mentioned in Toman's Dictionary of Czech artists. A scene full of movement from the sugar beet harvest is processed with folkloristic precision. The veristic conception of every detail represents a life snapshot of practically documentary quality. Technique: oil on canvas, Signed: sign. vpravo dole: V Trsek 1894
