Amy Vale was born in Newcastle, New South Wales. She died at Drummoyne, Sydney on 9 November 1951.

She should not be confused with the Melbourne-based painter May Vale.

Amy Vale worked in Sydney and London; first exhibited at the Royal Art Society, Sydney, in 1899; and with the Society of Women Painters until the 1920s.
