      A portrait of the painter Dominique Morlot, in his studio, seated, full-length, wearing a maroon jacket and holding his palette indistinctly signed 'Hi Valton' (lower left) oil on canvas 381/4 x 32 in. (97 x 81 cm.) NOTES Henri Valton was a genre painter born in Troyes, and a similar painting to the present work exists in the city museum. In the present work the painter is re-interpreting the Rape of Deianeira by Guido Reni from a contemporary print.
