Shown is a busy harbor scene under a cloudy sky. The spray of the stormy sea splashes high up against the shore. In spite of the storm, several sailing ships adventurous venture out onto the water. The painting is signed 'Adrianus van Blyk' and is in good condition with slight age-related signs of wear. Partly minor retouching in the sky, which discolored lightly yellow. Adrianus van Blyk Adrianus van Blyk was a well-known fine art painter and seems to have temporarily worked in Amsterdam. Regarding his technical proficiency and delicate compositional practice, his works seem to be deeply related to paintings by Hermanus Koekkoek.
