Ganz ausgezeichneter, toniger Druck mit Wischkritzeln und feinem Rändchen um die gratige Facette. Partiell nur sehr blass gebräunt, umlaufend entlang der Außenkanten auf ein Fensterpapier montiert, sonst in sehr schöner Erhaltung. Very strong dark early impression on laid paper with 1- 2 mm margins. With a part of a watermark.

Note The present work is a particularly charming work on paper by Van Everdingen, with the typically Dutch setting emphasising the artistï¿½s place in the impressive canon of 17th-century Netherlandish landscape artists, alongside artists such as Jan van Goyen (1596-1656). The medium of watercolour allows the artist to convey a sense of movement and freshness, illustrated by the figures and trees which are both clearly being thrashed by the prevailing winds. A walker in a long dress animates the forest path, with large stones on both sides. Further back on the path two hunters have stopped and are looking into the landscape.
