Armenak Vardanyan is an Armenian sculptor, born in 1955. He graduated from the Yerevan Institute of Fine Arts, Sculpture department, in 1979. In 1983 was accepted into the Artists Union of Armenia. From 1983 to 1991 he was also a member of the Artists Union of USSR. His sculptures are subtle, refined and often witty. They vary in size and materials; from huge statues to small sculptures and from hard marble to molten bronze. Armenak Vardanyans sculptures are kept in the National Gallery of Armenia, various galleries within the Commonwealth of Independent States countries, the Russian Academy of Fine Arts, the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the Dante Museum in Ravenna and numerous private collections worldwide. He has won many awards and is considered an established artist within and outside Armenia.
