With loose and slightly impasto brushwork the artist manages to capture a summer landscape in which a wide path at the edge of a forest leads the viewer's eye into the depths. Also, through the use of bright colors Jakov Jakovlevic Veber succeeds in holding on to the mood of summer in this painting. The work is signed lower right in Cyrillic and dated 1913. It is overall in very good condition with still fresh colors. The image measures 51 x 71 cm. The framed dimensions are 71 x 91 cm. Jakov Jakovlevic Veber (1870-1958) Jakov Jakovlevic Veber was born in 1870 in the Russian town Ščerbakovka. He used to work as a painter at the Tsa's court, where he created among others portraits of the imperial family members, such as the Empress Alexandra Feodorovna.
