        Pierre Vidal (1849-?) - La vie à Montmartre, par Georges Montorgeuil. 1899. Imprimeur Chaix. 39,5x58cm. Couverture originale, lithographie, entoilée. Condition A- une légère mouillure dans la partie inférieure. On joint une couverture identique, avant la lettre, non entoilée et avec de petites déchirures marginales. La couverture est composée avec intelligence puisque se dévoilent les toits de Paris, et au loin la silhouette du Sacré Coeur d'Abadie qui émerge d'une forêt d'échafaudages. A dessus du paysage, une farandole de personnages dansent, écho des bals populaires de la butte, sans oublier une danseuse de French Cancan du Moulin Rouge, et la vache enragée de la cavalcade annuelle.

        PARIS STREET SCENES. VIDAL, PIERRE, illustrator. 1849-1913. Paris qui crie. Petit metièrs. Paris: Paris Georges Chamerot pour les Amis du Livre, 1890. Large 8vo (234 x 172 mm). French text, 30 color plates and one vignette by Vidal. Contemporary brown morocco, covers with gilt filet borders and rose motifs at the corners, spine gilt with climbing rose motif, marbled endpapers, publisher's pictorial wrappers retained and bound in at front and back. Corners slightly bumped, minor spotting. Provenance: Cortlandt Bishop (bookplate and book label, both on front paste-down). LIMITED EDITION, number 109 of 120 copies. The illustrations depict a variety of Parisian merchants and peddlers, with a preface by Henri Beraldi, who initiated a series of very limited illustrated books celebrating the life and scenery of Paris.         Pierre VIDAL - Les Heures de la femme à Paris. Tableaux parisiens dessinés, gravés à l'eau-forte et accompagnés d'un texte. Paris, Boudet, (1903). In-8, reliure janséniste signée de Granghaud plein maroquin marron, dos à cinq nerfs, dentelle intérieure dorée, garde de papier marbré vieux rose, tranches dorées, couverture conservée (dos légèrement et uniformément passé, quelques petites griffures au dos). Ces heures parisiennes sont illustrées de 96 eaux-fortes tirées par Eugène DELATTRE et de 150 frises décoratives coloriées à la main par E. GRENINGAIRE. Carteret spécifie que l'ouvrage est très intéressant pour le costume en 1900. Tirage strictement limité à 250 exemplaires numérotés. Un des 220 sur vélin du Marais (n°248). Carteret, IV, p 397.
