Signed painting, "Oma" by Jacques Vonk was educated at the Free Academy in The Hague and the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht, Holland. As a student, he won the Prix d'Excellance (1954) of the municipality of Maastricht. Vonk painted and drew landscapes, figures and still lifes. He also made stained glass windows, which are striking for their simplicity and unity with the architecture. His work is best reflected in the restored churches in Schinnen, Hoensbroek and Venlo. Vonk was a member of the Federation of Associations of Professional Visual Artists and Creative Craft Limburg.
