Below the depiction in German with dedication text on the life of the sitter, signed below in the printing plate "G. Walch sculpsit." Date: 18th century Description: Half-length portrait of Prince Johann IV of Anhalt-Zerbst from the House of Ascanians (1504 Dessau - 1551 Zerbst) in a precious fur coat. Below the portrait is the coat of arms of the sitter. Johann was said to have a balanced character and a good education, which is why he served, among other things, as an intermediary in Martin Luther's negotiations with Emperor Charles V.
