They were created by great aunt Lavinia Walker, Grandma Babbitt's sister, in 1876, and presented to Nora Campau Babbitt, now Nora Babbitt Harsh, singing teacher in Chicago, at Fine Arts Bldg. 410 So. Michigan Ave. These negros were made in Ypsilanti, Michigan . Partial hand written label on the back of the picture along with partial printed label National Federation of Musicians Rock Island All Roads... Biennial... Convention, June 6-14, 1921 . Beeswax, wool thread, silk, satin, wool tweed, glass overall size: 11 1/4 by 10 3/8 inches; each figure: height 7 to 8 inches
