        Wan Amy Nazira's light-hearted yet thoughtful imageries were influenced by the art of cartoons. Her distinct body of work explores current issues using the image of female figures. In Si Tamak, a young child carrying a toy stands amidst a landscape of traditional homes gentrified by an influx of building developments, to make way for an urbanised cityscape. The artist's paintings are associated with contemplations of the modern world (endless development although there's already over supply of offices, condos and houses; the bottomline is money, it's always the greed, the money), interpreted through a child-like playfulness and humour.         Back in the days when things were simpler you can see kids playing Teng-teng in their past time. It is one of the most popular games in Malay community. Depicted in the scene is a little girl jumping in one of the boxes prepared for the game. The basic rule of this game is you cannot step on the lines or fall outside the box or else you are disqualified.         Comical looking figure has always been the signature of Amy Nazira’s subject.         As comical as it may seem this piece titled Amboi depicts a girl wearing a red ribbon headband while a green scarf wrapped around her neck further enhances her personality. A healer speaker is seen hanging at her side, suggesting that the girl is using it to make an announcement. To note that Amboi by definition is an expression used to express explicit feeling like admiration, anger, wonder, delicious etc perhaps that’s the function of the healer.
