      Essie Treat Ward (United States, 1902 - 1981) framed oil on masonite folk art painting of an Amish couple on their farmstead with their wagon, signed and dated to lower right "E. Ward 1972" and titled to lower center "Hurry Up Miranda We're Gonna Miss The Preachin.". Simple wood frame measures18" in height with width of 24" and depth of 1/4' while masonite board itself measures 17-3/4" in height with width of 24". In overall good condition with minor scratch to upper right hand corner of 1/4" length, please see photographs. All measurements are approximate. Note: In 1971, Jeanne Hoffer-Tucker of Norfor, Arkansas commissioned the artist to paint an entire set of Hezzakiah & Miranda paintings, forty (40) paintings total.
