        JOSEPH WARD, ENGLISH WILLIAM III BRITANNIA STANDARD SILVER DIMINUTIVE TAZZAS, PAIR, each having a round flat well with gadroon rim, underside engraved "B / E D" near edge, raised on a round pedestal-type base with gadroon border. Each impressed to top with "W A" anchor maker's mark for Joseph Ward and three hallmarks of a Britannia standard mark for 0.958 silver fineness, a lion's head erased, and a date mark for 1699, each base impressed with a lion's head erased hallmark. Total weight: 5.785 ozt. Circa 1699. Each 5 1/4" D, 1 1/2" HOA.

        Joseph Ward, The afternoon, after Morland, c.1880, lithograph Description: Lithograph by Joseph Ward after Morland, inscribed: "Morland pt Ward st After Noon". A beautiful young lady sits under trees as a personification of the afternoon, her expansive hat with feathers offering her additional protection from the sun. With her arms folded, she looks at the viewer almost a little challengingly. The artist set the painting in a painted oval frame. Joseph Ward lived as a lithographer in the United States around 1850.
