"The Defeat of Mary Queen of Scots, The Battle of Langside", hand colored engraving, published in London in 1794. Engraving depicts Mary Queen of Scots on May 13, 1568, her Catholic troops being defeated by the Scottish Protestants at the Battle of Langside. Mary is pictured at center commanding her troops with two young beauties clutching at her knees and soldiers surrounding her, one on horseback behind holding an orange Scottish flag.
