      William Ward (England, 1766-1826) mezzotint engraving depicting shepherds with their flock, titled "The Shepherds" lower center, "Painted by G. Morland" (George Morland, England, 1763-1804) to lower left, and "Engraved by W. Ward Engraver to HRH the Duke of York" to lower right. Framed and matted under glass. Gilt frame measures 26" in height by 32" by 1-1/2" in depth, the sight image measures 18" in height by 24" in width. All measurements are approximate, in overall good condition. William Ward (England, 1766-1826) was appointed engraver to the Duke of York, the Prince of Wales, and associate engraver to the Royal Academy.
