Along the lower edge of the sheet the paper is clearly damaged by creases and restored marginal tears. The image makes a very good impression.

                William Ward (England, 1766-1826) mezzotint engraving depicting shepherds with their flock, titled "The Shepherds" lower center, "Painted by G. Morland" (George Morland, England, 1763-1804) to lower left, and "Engraved by W. Ward Engraver to HRH the Duke of York" to lower right. Framed and matted under glass. Gilt frame measures 26" in height by 32" by 1-1/2" in depth, the sight image measures 18" in height by 24" in width. All measurements are approximate, in overall good condition.
