    Attributed to Amelia Montague Watson (American, 1856-1934), c. 1890, dark red crayon, graphite, and wash drawing on cream-colored paper depicting mounted rider asking directions from seated man and family in forest, monogrammed "AMW" LL, partial paper label verso, expected wear to frame including minor checking and corner gilt loss, matted and framed behind glass, not examined out of frame, ss: 9" h. x 13 3/8" w. [Watson was a long-time resident of East Windsor Hill, CT. She exhibited her works in Boston between 1891-1894, eventually retiring to Florida where she died in Orlando.]
