    This is a beautiful estate found lithograph print by British artist Thomas Robert Way (1861-1913). He trained at the South Kensington Art Schools and designed posters for London Underground between 1910 and 1913. T. R. Way's father, Thomas Way (1837-1915), was an lithographer, engraver and general printer who founded the firm: Thomas Way and Son. T. R. Way is noted for his topographical lithographs of London and his catalogue of 130 of James McNeill Whistler's lithographs. This print features a depiction of Westminster Abbey at Twilight. It is signed and dated for 1911. It was published by W.M. Power Victoria Galleries, Westminster. - The paper is 11 3/8 x 7 5/8". The printed area is 9 7/8 x 6 5/8".

Faint signature in pencil at lower center outside of lithograph "T.R. Way". Under cream matting in black frame. Way studied at the South Kensington School and became a landscape and portrait painter, lithographer, and printer. He exhibited in London between 1883-1893. Way designed posters for the London Underground between 1910-1913. MEASUREMENTS: 8-1/8" x 5-1/2". Overall with frame 14" x 10-5/8". CONDITION: Toning to paper and fading to pencil signature. Light wear to frame.

    THOMAS R. WAY Whistler with the White Lock. Lithograph, circa 1895. 204x141 mm; 8x5 1/2 inches, full margins. Signed in pencil, lower right. A superb, dark impression. Way (1861-1913) who printed most of Whistler's lithographs from the 1870s onward, was an accomplished artist himself, evident in this portrait of Whistler drawn during the height of their collaboration. In 1896, Way published the first catalogue raisonné of Whistler's lithographs. Gallatin 131.
