    Klaus Weber, "Selbstbildnis mit Schatten" Portrait des 54 Jahre alten Künstlers an der Staffelei, mit zum Betrachter gerichtetem Blick und im Hintergrund Totenschädel als Zeichen, dass alles vergänglich ist, teils pastose Portraitmalerei mit fein abgestimmter Farbpalette, Öl auf Leinwand, oben rechts signiert und datiert "K. Weber (19)82", rückseitig von Hand betitelt "Selbstbildnis mit Schatten", geringe Kratzspuren, vom Künstler in schlichter Leiste gerahmt, Falzmaße ca. 42 x 50,5 cm. Künstlerinfo: dt. Maler und Graphiker (1928 Berlin bis 2018 Leipzig), noch als Schüler zum Kriegsdienst eingezogen und anschließend Kriegsgefangenschaft, 1952-56 Studium an der Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst bei Kurt Massloff und Walter Arnold, ab 1956 freischaffend in Leipzig ansässig, hier auch als Gebrauchsgraphiker tätig, ab 1978 verschiedene Werksverträge, ab 1980 mehrere Studienreisen in verschiedene Gebiete der Sowjetunion, Mitglied im VBK der DDR, war auf zahlreichen Ausstellungen vertreten, Quelle: Vollmer, Eisold „Künstler in der DDR“ und Wikipedia. Weber (19)82", on the reverse titled by hand "Selbstbildnis mit Schatten", minor traces of scratching, framed by the artist in a plain moulding, dimensions approx. 42 x 50.5 cm. Artist information: German painter and graphic artist (1928 Berlin - 2018 Leipzig), drafted into military service as a schoolboy and subsequently a prisoner of war, 1952-56 studied at the Academy of Visual Arts under Kurt Massloff and Walter Arnold, from 1956 based in Leipzig as a freelance artist, also active here as a commercial artist, from 1978 various work contracts, from 1980 several study trips to various areas of the Soviet Union, member of the VBK of the GDR, was represented at numerous exhibitions, source: Vollmer, Eisold "Künstler in der DDR" and Wikipedia.
