Joseph Vincent Nicholas Francis Weiss (English/French, 1859-1919), known as Jose Weiss, small oil on board British landscape painting entitled "On the Thames" depicting three trees growing along the side of the river Thames before a cloud-filled sky. Signed lower right. With title inscribed to back of stretcher and old price sticker with artist's name affixed to verso, along with old inventory sticker. Housed in an ornate giltwood frame with nameplate. Sight: 6 1/4" H x 10 1/4" W. Frame: 16" H x 19 7/8' W. Biographical Note: Weiss, also remembered as a pioneer of aviation, was born in Paris and later emigrated to England.
