Mary Preminger (American, 1920-1997),"Double U"-circa 1968, polished chrome, apparently unsigned. Modern abstract sculpture, reminiscent of noted English sculptor Donald Wells (English, 1929-2014), depicting shifting elements of an elongated ovoid, the ovoid divided in half, the top half turned 90 degrees with its center element extended perpendicularly, the bottom half with its center jetting out, each piece conjuring a sense of movement in the work as though the ovoid is puzzling itself apart, with black marble base with white striations, felted to the underside. Overall approximately 19.8" x 6.5" x 4.25".
