      Ross Wetzel American, (1917-2013) The Second Warning serigraph pencil signed, titled, and numbered 111/300 lower margin. From AskArt: Following is the obituary of the artist from the Chicago Sunday Tribune, May 12, 2013, courtesy of Gene Meier. Wetzel, Ross Louis, an illustrator and artist whose career spanned 64 years died April 16th in Hilton Head, South Carolina at the age of 96. Born March 11,1917 in Chicago, Mr.Wetzel worked for Walt Disney, doing illustration on FANTASIA, PINOCCHIO and the MICKEY MOUSE comic strip. In 1958 he founded Cartoonist's Inc., one of Chicago's first animation studios, and in 1970 went on to form an epynomously named serigraphy and picture framing studio in Evanston. The studio was later moved to Wilmette and continues to serve galleries, artists and private clientele. His best known art work is a group of watercolors featured in AMERICAN ARTIST MAGAZINE in which he "eliminated perspective." Mr.Wetzel is preceded in death by his wife and fellow artist, Janice Wetzel.
