      BLUMENSTILLLEBEN IN EINER NISCHE Öl auf Leinwand. Doubliert. 73 x 68 cm. In gekehltem Rahmen. Auf einem zentral vorspringenden Steinprofil steht in eine Nische gesetzt eine Balustervase mit zahlreichen überreifen Blumen wie Schneeball, Wicken und geflammten Tulpen. Der Künstler war Schüler J. Beichs in München. Nach Aufenthalt in Nürnberg war er seit mindestens 1732 ansässig in Augsburg. Den Hauptteil seines Schaffens machen seine Landschaftsgemälde aus, teils mit figuraler Staffierung.       FLUSSLANDSCHAFT MIT FIGUREN Öl auf Leinwand. 86 x 117 cm. Rechts unten signiert „Weyerman“. In vergoldetem Rahmen. In weiter bergiger Landschaft zwei Händler mit ihren voll bepackten Pferden, auf dem Weg zu einem steinernen Tor, dabei auf Holzstegen einen Fluss überquerend. Im verschatteten Vordergrund ein Mann im Gespräch mit einer Mutter mit Kindern. Im Hintergrund eine Flusslandschaft mit hohem Gebirge in diffusem hellblauem Licht, unter hohem Himmel mit weißen Wolkenformationen. Qualitätvolle Malerei mit gekonnter Licht- und Schattensetzung. Vereinzelt kleine Retuschen, kleine Rahmenschäden. Der Künstler war Schüler J. Beichs in München. Nach Aufenthalt in Nürnberg war er seit mindestens 1732 ansässig in Augsburg. A forest landscape with slightly increased position and a view to a low, spacious horizon with embedded architecture can be found in numerous paintings. The scattered figure groups are similar to other works of the painter, too. Condition: The painting is in good age-related condition. The canvas is relined. The paint surface shows slight overall craquelure, the varnish is slightly discolored. The inspection under UV light reveals small overall retouching. The frame bears some small bumps to the corners and edges. The canvas measures 115,5 x 161 cm. The total dimensions, including the frame of 134.5 x 181 cm. Jakob Christoph Weyermann (1698-1757) Born in St. Gallen Jakob Christoph Weyermann was trained in Munich under Franz Joachim Beich. In addition to occasional stays in Nuremberg, he was mainly in active in Augsburg. Landscape scenes were his preferred subject. His teacher had a lasting effect on his style, who created landscapes reminiscent of Dutch and Italian landscape paintings. The figural scenography of his landscapes with hunting motifs allows comparisons to the works of the painter Johann Elias Ridinger.
