Provenance: Collection of Michael Brown and Linda Green, New Orleans. Note: Mixed media artist Ed Whitemans propensity towards primordial imagery and visual chaos is evident in the lot offered here. Using scraps of paper, Whiteman pastes them together into a collage then paints over the surface, the result of which is as William Fagaly once put it, an image with its own topography, complete with lines, paths, and veins.
