    JAN WILS (1891-1972) OLVEH / OPGERICHT. Metal sign. Circa 1932. 22½x16½ inches, 57¼x42 cm. Verblifa, Amsterdam. Condition A-: minor abrasions and wear at edges; scratches in text; small holes in corners and at sides for hanging. Metal sign, as issued. "Silkscreen on tin sign advertising a life insurance company." Wils was an architect and one of the founding members of the De Stijl movement, which also included artists such as Piet Mondrian, Theo van Doesburg and Gerrit Rietveld. Wils designed the Olympic Stadium for the 1928 Summer Games in Amsterdam. His design was also entered in the Olympic art competition, and earned him the gold medal.
